The Great Cross

The cornerstone of the Christian faith is the Resurrection of Jesus the Christ. God’s Grace action toward man is told in its completeness in this Great Cross.


The artist has skillfully perfected the intended relationship between man and Christ, the great high priest.


The images of Adam and Eve are prominently on display as the symbols of humanity. On their foreheads they bear the Chi Rho XP of redemption.


In the folds of His vestments are seen the Spirit of God (dove in lower left corner) moving over the face of the waters (Genesis)

Note the bird perched on Eve’s finger, and the perfect balance of all living things. Just below her outstretched arm is the Garden of Eden’s Tree of Good and Evil. The apple with the black spot is a reminder that evil is ever present and the war against it is unending.
